Melissa Kay was born Nov. 20th at 4:08 pm, 6 lbs. 1.8 oz. and 18 3/4 inches long.
We were lucky to have Johnny's brother, Michael come stay for a few weeks. When I had Nathan my water broke at home and I had him within 20 minutes after I got to the hospital. So we knew we didn't have much time if my water broke at home, since we live 10 minutes to the hospital.
I woke up Tuesday the 20th and was having a few complications, and noticing that the baby wasn't moving as much as before. I called my doctors office, while driving Johnny to work and they told me to go straight to the hospital. I did not want to do that! So Johnny ended up talking to the nurse and they told me to come into the office then. After dropping Johnny off at work, Nathan and I went to the doctors. My doctor is awesome! I love her! I'm so grateful to have gotten her. She checked me out and told me to go over the hospital, which is right next door, and be induced right now. She was shocked that I told her I made Johnny go to work that day. I asked if I could take Nathan home and she said no, I needed someone to come get him because I had to get things started asap. So I called Johnny's work and someone gave him a rid over and he took Nate home while I checked in.
Even though I was induced things seemed to go the same as they had when I was in labor with Nathan. Mild contractions until my water broke. I was lucky that the nurses where in the middle of switching shifts and they were in my room when my water broke. I told them, I had my last child shortly after my water braking. So they checked me I was 4 cm, they called my doctor, who was in surgery and she sent her medical student up. Sure enough, just 40 minutes after my water broke Melissa was born. My doctor was able to make it just in time, which I was glad. Everything went great. My doctor said I made it look easy....though, it didn't feel easy to me. After delivery my doctor was examining the placenta and showed us, where the cord attaches to the placenta, it was destroying and barely hanging on. So it was a good thing I was paying attention and that we got her out before it became coming detached.
Dad went home and brought the boys to come see her, Robby was in immediate love and Nathan, had the most shocking look on his face, I don't think he really understood she was going to be a real baby. Dad went home with the boys and Melissa and I had our first girls night. We were able to go home the next day after she was 24 hours. So we went home and started on the Thanksgiving menu! Johnny's brother Ben and his family got there just before us and then his parents and grandma came the on Thanksgiving. It was a great Thanksgiving.
We are so happy to have Melissa in our family. She is such a little sweetheart. It's nice to have another girl around. Something cute about her, when she cries she snorts!!

I know this is a little late commenting, but Oh My! You only stayed in the hospital for 24 hours after her birth?? Then you went straight to work making Thanksgiving dinner!! You must've been exhausted. You truly are supermom. I hope my family helped alot. I wish I could've been there I would've made sure you got lots of rest. :)
