So, we haven't posted in a few weeks. There has been a lot happening since then. In the next day or so I''ll put up pictures of Robby's first snowman and of my birthday, but for right now I'll post about Santa Claus, IN and Abraham Lincoln.
On Friday we drove down to Santa Claus, IN just 2 hours away. It was lots of fun!
This is the main street running through town. You can't tell from the picture, but the sign is red.
The Santa Claus Christmas store was pretty cool. Notice Santa climbing the chimney. Robby got his picture taken with Santa, but Nathan was taking a nap at the time and we didn't want to wake him. Next we went next door to an ornament shop and got Nathan his own ornament. A cute little train with his name on it.
We mailed our Christmas cards out from the post office so they would be marked Santa Claus, IN. Some of you should be getting those in the next few days.
Inside, he helped make some snow. He mixed a teaspoon of this powder with a half cup of water and within a few seconds he had a bowl full of cold, dry, powdery "snow."
Here is Robby at the Santa Claus museum. He sent his letter to Santa from there. Santa will be sending him a response letter. How cool is that?!
The best part about this trip was that we got to go to two neat places at once. Abraham Lincoln lived in Indiana from age 7 until he was 21 just a few minutes drive from what is now Santa Claus, IN. This is Robby, Buzz and I walking through Abe's fathers farm up to the site of their home.
The building on the left is a replica of the home Abraham Lincoln grew up in.
