Unfortunately for us the Pope is coming to town the weekend before Easter so they were cleaning up the sculpture when we were there. Good thing grandma and grandpa are coming so we can see it again!
The views were amazing!
On the way home we stopped in a little town just outside of Guanajuato to visit the mines. Guanajuato once produced 40% of the worlds silver. Today they produce 14%. The town of Guanajuato has many tunnels that run through town because of the mines, that are now used for cars....but more on that in another post!
The tour was in Spanish so John had to translate....I think it makes him feel important that he can do that for me!
Robby was really happy that we went because for his birthday he said he wanted to go in a cave.
They also have this amazing church, that was funded by the mines. It was built in 1777 and is all gold plated!
