Trip to the Amish

On Saturday we went to Gasthof an Amish Village in southern Indiana, we see a lot of Amish at the stores here in Bloomington but we thought it would be fun to see where they live. We were a little disappointed at first because they advertise that they have a flea market, which turned out not to be Amish at all, just normal people selling normal things. They had three Amish stores in this village, most of there items where things that we have at our stores, they did have some Amish furniture, quilts and dolls.

The best part was the Amish restaurant, the food was so yummy!

After we ate we saw a lady and her kids come into town in a horse and buggy.
Then we drove around a little outside the village and saw some of their houses. It's weird though because their houses look like ours and they have the buggy parked in the front, they all had their laundry out to dry, then you would see that they have swing sets and bikes like we do. We even saw an Amish house with a basketball hoop, now that's true Indiana Amish! Next we need to go to Pennsylvania to see the real Amish!

I have never heard of that town - we may have to visit it. I lived near an amish market on my mission and we loved going and buying their baked goods - so good. :)

The big orange reflector triangle on the back of the carriage was funny.
