Southern Vacation
For spring break we drove to Columbus, GA to visit Johnny's sister and family. The trip started out Saturday the 7th with us being so excited that we couldn't sleep so we left at 4:30 am. Just before Louisville, KY (just 2 hours into 10 hr drive) the car said the oil pressure was too low. We had just gotten an oil change and it was fine. After many collect calls and driving to several repair shops we finally found a shop that helped us by calling a VW dealer and asking if they could take the car. They advised us not to drive it. So we had it towed and grabbed as much luggage as we could and walked to the nearest hotel which was 1/2 mile away. What a sight that was on such a busy street! When we were almost there someone did pull over to help. Anyway, we were very upset because we thought our vacation was ruined, but later we figured it was cheaper to rent a car and finish our travel then to sit in a hotel all week while the car was getting fixed.
We got to Tom and Jennie's on Sunday night. We had so much fun playing with the cousins, eating Jennie's food, and listening to Tom's stories. We saw lots of neat things and had some southern BBQ too. We also drove through Nashville, TN, Atlanta and Birmingham, AL. Robby has been through 13 states in his 12 months. Because of the rental car we had to end the trip early. We wished we could have stayed longer, it was so much fun and so nice to get away. We miss you wild Roses!
